Recently, sustained high temperatures have occurred in the southern, southern, and southwestern regions of China, with temperatures exceeding 37 ℃ in some areas such as Jiangsu, Hunan, Guangdong, Guangxi, and Yunnan, Sichuan. Multiple national meteorological observation stations have set new historical extremes for the same period. Compared to the same period in history, this sustained high-temperature weather has the characteristics of wide impact range and strong high-temperature intensity. Suzhou Security Company kindly reminds us that high temperatures and heat are a common period for safety accidents and diseases. The continuous high temperatures are "testing" every security employee. In order to help everyone understand the knowledge of first aid for heatstroke, further improve the emergency rescue capabilities for heatstroke in summer, and ensure the life, health, and safety of businesses and employees, On the afternoon of July 13, 2023, the Jiusheng Baoan Guanhu Life Plaza project organized an emergency rescue drill for heatstroke due to high temperatures.
Remind everyone to do a good job in heatstroke prevention and safety precautions, respond to "baking" tests, and avoid accidents.
Greater Heat
This drill simulated that staff member Li experienced heatstroke symptoms due to continuous work in a high-temperature working environment. Upon discovering this, the on-site duty personnel immediately took measures and reported the accident situation to the department head. After receiving the report, the company leader immediately initiates the emergency plan and commands the entire process. The rescue team rushed to the scene as soon as possible to organize rescue. Through a series of practical operations such as on-site transfer, cooling, and water replenishment, it ensured that heatstroke personnel could receive accurate treatment in the first time. The entire drill process was organized in an orderly manner, with clear division of labor and smooth connection, achieving the expected effect.

Starting from actual combat, this exercise effectively tested the ability to respond to emergencies, the scientific, practical, and operational nature of emergency plans, and the collaborative combat ability of emergency rescue teams. Next, the company will continue to strengthen safety management, further improve emergency plans, and improve the emergency response capabilities of employees for emergencies, laying a solid foundation for efficient and orderly implementation of various safety work in the future.
The following are the four major "heat" hazards that our company's personnel should be aware of during hot weather.
01 "Hot" Hazard 1: Personnel heatstroke
Heatstroke is one of the common acute febrile diseases in hot summer. Patients may experience dizziness, headache, nausea, thirst, sweating, palpitations, and flushed complexion. Their body temperature can rise to over 38 ℃, and they may even experience symptoms of collapse such as decreased blood pressure and faster pulse. Preventing heatstroke is crucial.
Precautions:
● Configure heatstroke prevention and cooling facilities to improve the working environment;
Reasonably adjust the working hours, try to avoid high-temperature working hours, and avoid employees being exposed to high-temperature sunlight for a long time, which may lead to fatigue or heatstroke;
Provide employees with a good place to work and rest. If air conditioning is installed in the place, it is recommended that the indoor temperature should not be lower than 24 degrees Celsius;
Provide heatstroke relief drinks, such as light saltwater;
● Prepare some heatstroke prevention and relieving drugs, such as Huoxiang Zhengqi Liquid, Fengyou essence, Shidishui, honeysuckle dew, etc., implement medical emergency measures for heatstroke patients, and set up emergency places.
02. "Hot" Hazard 2: Falling of high-altitude workers
In hot weather, it is easy for high-altitude workers to neglect personal labor protection and not wear safety belts due to the heat, which can easily lead to high-altitude falling accidents. Precautions:
● High altitude operations must have strict approval and protection systems, and operators must receive specialized safety training and obtain qualifications for high altitude operations before entering the site for operation. For job outsourcing, the qualification and contract of the outsourcing company should be strictly reviewed and a safety production agreement should be signed (archived for future reference);
● Before starting work, implement point-to-point safety technical disclosure, strictly comply with the safety production operation regulations for high-altitude operations, and strengthen employee training;
● Strengthen regulatory efforts and resolutely correct behaviors such as not wearing or improperly using seat belts.
03. "Hot" Hazard Three: Electrical Safety Accidents
The hot weather increases the electricity load, and the high temperature and humidity environment accompanied by rainfall can easily lead to wire aging and damage, resulting in a decrease in the insulation performance of electrical equipment or electrification of the casing.
In addition, the hot weather makes it easy for operators to neglect wearing insulation protective equipment. When wearing light clothing or short sleeves, there are many exposed parts of the skin, and when sweating heavily, the human body resistance decreases. The combination of multiple factors increases the risk of electric shock.
At the same time, if the ventilation in the equipment room is not smooth and the temperature in the room is too high, it can also lead to electrical equipment failures and equipment "heatstroke".
Precautions:
● Strictly follow the operating procedures for work, and wear work clothes, insulated shoes, insulated gloves, and other labor protection equipment during operation. At the same time, insulated shoes and gloves should undergo a voltage withstand test inspection every 6 months;
● Non electrical personnel are strictly prohibited from touching, disassembling, and repairing electrical equipment without permission. Any abnormalities found should be reported promptly;
● Regular maintenance of wires, with a focus on inspecting the joints of the lines. If any aging issues are found, they should be replaced with new lines in a timely manner;
● Continuously carry out cooling maintenance for the equipment room to ensure the normal operation of equipment and facilities in the property management area. For example, it is recommended to maintain the air temperature in the elevator room between 5 and 40 ℃. If the temperature exceeds this range, the failure rate of elevators will increase by about twice.
04. "Hot" Hazard 4: Fire and explosion accidents
Under high temperature weather, accidents such as electrical fires, battery car fires, car fires, mosquito repellent fires, and fires caused by flammable and explosive materials at decoration sites are prone to occur.
Precautions:
● Increase the intensity of fire safety inspections and inspections, strengthen the inspection of the equipment and effectiveness of fire facilities, conduct inspections of fire equipment, fire equipment rooms, etc., and keep records;
● Strengthen the management of "two lanes and one exit" (fire exits, evacuation routes, and safety exits) to ensure smooth passage;
● Strengthen the duty and patrol of fire monitoring, and constantly grasp the fire safety dynamics within the management area;
● Strengthen the supervision and management of the use and storage of flammable and explosive materials on decoration and other construction sites. For example, Oxygen tank and acetylene cylinders should be placed separately, with a spacing of not less than 5 meters, and sunscreen facilities should be set up at the same time;
● Strengthen the safety management of Hot work such as welding and cutting, and strictly implement the operation approval management system;
● Strengthen supervision during work and resolutely correct behaviors such as not wearing or improperly using safety belts;
● Conduct a comprehensive safety inspection on the parking and charging management of electric vehicles, and remind all owners not to expose the electric vehicles to sunlight, not to charge them in high-temperature environments, and not to charge them immediately after driving. After charging, turn off the power promptly;
● Urge the operation unit of new energy vehicle charging facilities to complete the inspection of facilities and equipment, urge the operation unit of charging facilities and the owner of self built piles to equip them with electricity safety, public security safety, and fire safety equipment as required, and do a good job in the supervision and management of public facility operators.
